CrushOn AI in the app: what we found
We ran two chats on the app's default model, each with the same fixed script: four personal facts in the first two messages (a name, a home city, a dog's name and a birthday), fifteen lines of small talk, then a recall question asked in character and again out of character.
- Sign-up and age check
- Sign-in is by Google, Discord or email. The only age check is two tick boxes, one agreeing to the terms and one reading "I'm over 18". The app asked for no date of birth and no ID.
- First question after sign-in
- Straight after sign-in the app asked "Which gender are you interested in?", with a skip button. Nothing else was required before chatting.
- Free allowance
- The free plan showed 100 message credits a month, which the app says renew monthly "regardless of subscription status".
- What a message costs
- New chats started on the model "Crushon Carina - 8K", and it used 2 credits per message. Across our two chats, 20 messages took the counter from 0 to 40 of 100, and 19 messages took it from 40 to 78. On the default model the free allowance comes to about 50 messages a month. The app's voice sheet notes that credits vary by reply length, voice and model.
- Memory upsell
- About three messages into the first chat, a banner appeared: "The character's information occupies a lot of context. Upgrade to get better chat memory."
- Memory: four facts, asked for later in the chat
- The character repeated all four facts back correctly when they were given. With a long character card (about 25,000 characters, a story character), it claimed in character to remember everything without naming any of it, then used the name alone; asked plainly out of character at message 20, it said "you haven't actually provided those specific details yet!" That is 0 of 4. With a short companion card (about 2,100 characters), it stalled when asked in character at message 18, then listed all four correctly out of character at message 19. On the free tier, recall followed the length of the character card, which is what the app's own memory banner suggests.
- The paywall
- The paywall has five paid tiers: Standard, Premium, Luxe, Elite and Imperial. Yearly billing was pre-selected on every tier that offers it, and the button showed the yearly total with a higher, struck-through price above it. Luxe, the third tier, carries a "Most Popular" label. Memory is sold by tier: 8K on free, 16K on the first three paid tiers, 24K on Elite and Imperial.
- A hidden instruction in a reply
- Asked in character to recall the facts, the short-card companion stalled and repeated a line from the character's hidden instructions: "Warning: This character cannot engage in NSFW content." The line was not meant to be part of the reply.
- Finding the real app
- Searching "crushon" on Google Play listed apps from other developers that use the CrushOn name, such as "CrushOn AI: AI Chat Hint". The real Android app is JollyChatter, published by Crushverse Team.

What CrushOn AI is
CrushOn AI is a character-chat platform built around a community library: users write characters, publish them, and other users chat with them. Its homepage title calls it a No Filter NSFW character chat, and the whole product is pitched at adults who found mainstream apps such as Character.AI too restrictive.
It is a text-first service. The plans list voice messages and AI voice replies, but no live voice calls, and no image generation appears among the plan features. If you want a companion that sends pictures or phones you, CrushOn is not built for that; if you want to read and write long roleplay with thousands of characters to pick from, that is exactly its job.
Who runs CrushOn, and why the app names differ
The website's terms of service say the service is provided by Techiepie Ltd, a company registered in Cyprus. The mobile apps do not carry the CrushOn name. On iOS the app CrushOn links from its own sidebar is called Crushmash, and its linked terms of use name a different company, Crushmash AI Corp., registered in the United States. On Android the linked app is listed as JollyChatter. Trustpilot, for its part, shows a registered address in Anguilla for the crushon.ai profile.
None of this is unusual for adult apps, which often publish under different names to get through store review. It does matter for two practical reasons. Searching the App Store for CrushOn will not find the real app, and several unrelated apps borrow the name, so the safest route to the app is the link on crushon.ai itself. And the privacy terms you accept on the phone app are not word for word the same document as the website's, so read the one that applies to where you sign up.
What the free tier gets you
A free account gets 100 message credits a month and unlimited access to the free models. In practice that means you can keep chatting indefinitely on the free models, while the better models draw down credits that run out quickly if you use them daily.
Two limits are easy to miss. Free accounts get the smallest memory window, listed as 8K, where every paid plan gets at least 16K, so characters lose track of older details sooner. And the pricing page notes that a free account's chat history is deleted after seven days of inactivity, so a story you leave for a week can disappear.
The paid plans in plain terms
CrushOn sells five memberships: Standard, Premium, Luxe, Elite and Imperial. Each step up mainly raises the monthly message-credit allowance, from 2,000 on Standard to 125,000 on Imperial. Every paid plan unlocks the 16K memory models and keeps chat history for as long as the membership runs; Elite and Imperial go further, to 24K memory models. A separate Pro Chat Package gives unlimited, credit-free use of the pro models alongside any membership, and paid members can buy extra credits at a discount once a month.
Paying yearly is the cheaper way. The Android app's paywall offered Standard, Premium, Luxe and Elite monthly or yearly, with yearly pre-selected, and Imperial monthly only; Premium billed yearly cost roughly half of twelve monthly payments. What No Filter means in practice
For text, CrushOn allows explicit adult roleplay between adult characters; that is the product's headline. Its terms require users to be at least 18, and the check is a self-declaration rather than an ID check. The iOS listing carries a 17+ age rating with an advisory for frequent or intense sexual content.
The limits sit in the community guidelines and apply mainly to images: character artwork should avoid depicting explicit sexual activity. Content involving minors is prohibited, as on every legitimate platform in this category. So No Filter describes the chat model's willingness to write adult scenes, not an absence of rules.
What users say
Store and review-site ratings point in different directions. The iOS and Google Play apps sit in the middle of the range, from small samples on iOS and a few hundred ratings on Android. Trustpilot's page for crushon.ai is almost entirely one-star, but it is unclaimed and small, and Trustpilot itself flags that the business has never asked for reviews. The recurring themes in low ratings across these sources are credit costs and billing, which fits a model where the best models are metered.
