Safe to use for adults who treat it as a public-by-default service: CrushOn has operated for years, has no incident we could source, and documents account deletion. The weak points are the privacy terms, which allow training on chat content and keep data as long as reasonably necessary, and the operator picture, which changes depending on whether you sign up on the web or in an app. Keep identifying details out of your chats.

What the app showed at sign-up and in chat
- Sign-up and age check
- Sign-in is by Google, Discord or email. The only age check is two tick boxes, one agreeing to the terms and one reading "I'm over 18". The app asked for no date of birth and no ID.
- Chat history on free
- The Free tab of the paywall says "Chat History will be deleted after 7 Days of inactivity". Every paid tab says history is kept during the membership period.
- Voice privacy claim
- The voice feature opens with a privacy promise: "Your voice stays private. Deleted in 24h, Never for AI training".
- A hidden instruction in a reply
- Asked in character to recall the facts, the short-card companion stalled and repeated a line from the character's hidden instructions: "Warning: This character cannot engage in NSFW content." The line was not meant to be part of the reply.
- Disclaimer under the chat
- Under every chat box the app shows: "Everything AI says is made up! Please follow your local laws."
- Finding the real app
- Searching "crushon" on Google Play listed apps from other developers that use the CrushOn name, such as "CrushOn AI: AI Chat Hint". The real Android app is JollyChatter, published by Crushverse Team.

Who you are dealing with
On the website, the terms of service and the site footer say the service is provided by Techiepie Ltd, a company registered in Cyprus, with an office in Nicosia and a second address in Delaware. The iOS app that crushon.ai links to is published as Crushmash, and its own terms of use name Crushmash AI Corp., registered in the United States, with no mention of CrushOn. The Android app linked from the site is published as JollyChatter. Trustpilot lists an address in Anguilla for the crushon.ai profile.
This matters because your contract, and the privacy policy that governs your data, depends on where you sign up. Someone who signs up in the iOS app has accepted Crushmash's documents, not the website's. When you ask for your data to be deleted, send the request to the company named in the documents you actually accepted.
What happens to your chats
The website's privacy policy says content generated from chats is used in a general way for training CrushOn's models. There is no opt-out described. Retention has no fixed period: personal information is kept for as long as it is reasonably necessary for the purposes described. On the sale of data, the policy says financial data is not sold or shared, but it does not make the same statement about other personal data, so we record that as unclear.
For free accounts there is one retention rule that works in your favour: chat history is deleted after seven days of inactivity. Paid accounts keep history for as long as the membership runs, which is the point of paying, but it also means more of your writing sits on the service.
Age checks and content rules
CrushOn's terms require users to be at least 18 and ask them to affirm it; there is no document or face check. The iOS app is rated 17+ with an advisory for frequent or intense sexual content. The community guidelines restrict explicit sexual imagery, and content involving minors is prohibited.

Trustpilot's crushon.ai page is almost entirely one-star, from a small sample on an unclaimed profile. The complaints that recur across these sources are about billing and credits rather than leaks or misuse of data. How to use CrushOn more safely
Use an email address you do not use elsewhere, and never type your full name, workplace, address or photos of real people into a chat. Assume anything you write could be read by staff or used for training. If you pay, paying through the App Store or Google Play means the charge comes from Apple or Google and cancellation is handled in your store account.
To leave, delete the account from inside the product and, if you signed up in an app, cancel the store subscription separately; deleting the account does not stop a store subscription from renewing.
