PolyBuzz is gone from the App Store: what we know

Yes, PolyBuzz is off the App Store. Its iPhone app, PolyBuzz: Chat with Characters, returned Not Found in the US, UK, Canada and Australia on October 15, a day after our previous check found it live. Neither PolyBuzz nor Apple has said why. The Android app is still on Google Play, and the website at polybuzz.ai still works in Safari.

PolyBuzz's iPhone app is no longer on the App Store. This page sets out what we saw and what still works.

Status on October 15, 11:15 a.m. Eastern: not on the App Store in any country we tried. Still on Google Play. The website works.

What happened

PolyBuzz's iPhone app was listed on the App Store as PolyBuzz: Chat with Characters, sold by Cloud Whale Interactive Technology LLC. It first went up in 2023 under the name Poly.AI and was renamed PolyBuzz in January 2025. When we read the listing on October 11 it was rated 4.45 from 482,946 ratings, carried Apple's 18+ age rating, and its latest version was 2.2.80 from September 19.

Our change watch checks the listing twice a day through Apple's own app lookup. At 5:50 p.m. Eastern on October 14 it was live in the US, the UK, Canada and Australia. At 11:11 a.m. on October 15 all four storefronts returned no listing, and the App Store page itself returned Not Found. We then tried France, India, Brazil, Mexico, Singapore, the Philippines and South Korea: none had it. An App Store search for PolyBuzz shows no replacement under another name or developer.

What PolyBuzz and Apple have said

Nothing yet. We found no statement from PolyBuzz on its website, and Apple does not usually explain removals publicly. Apps leave the App Store either because Apple removes them or because the developer withdraws them, and from the outside the two look the same. We will add any statement here with its date.

What still works

  • Android: PolyBuzz: Chat with AI Friends is still on Google Play from the same developer, rated 4.0 from about 1.19 million ratings on October 15.
  • The web: polybuzz.ai loads and you log in with the same account. PolyBuzz's FAQ says the web version adds free image generation and animated characters.
  • On an iPhone: use the website in Safari. Adding it to the home screen gives it an icon like an app.

If you paid through the App Store

A membership bought in the iPhone app is an Apple subscription, so it is managed in Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions, not in PolyBuzz. If you no longer want it, cancel it there. Deleting the app or the account does not stop it. PolyBuzz's own deletion rules also ask that no membership is running and that your coin balance is under 100.

What we updated

The PolyBuzz review now lists Web and Android only, takes its rating from Google Play, and carries a dated notice. The changes log records the removal. If the app comes back or either company explains, we will add the date here.

Frequently asked questions

Was PolyBuzz removed from the App Store?

Yes. On October 15 its App Store page returned Not Found and Apple's own app lookup found no listing in the US, the UK, Canada, Australia or seven other countries we tried. Our check at 5:50 p.m. Eastern on October 14 had found it live.

Why was PolyBuzz removed from the App Store?

Nobody has said. Neither PolyBuzz nor Apple had made a statement when we checked, and we found no relisting under a new name or developer. We will add the reason here if either gives one.

Did PolyBuzz shut down?

No. The Android app is still on Google Play, from the same developer, and the website at polybuzz.ai still loads. Only the iPhone listing is gone.

How can you use PolyBuzz on an iPhone now?

Open polybuzz.ai in Safari and log in with the same account. The web version also has image generation and animated characters, according to PolyBuzz's FAQ.

What happens to a PolyBuzz subscription bought on an iPhone?

It is billed by Apple, so it is managed and cancelled in the iPhone's Settings under your name, then Subscriptions, not inside PolyBuzz. Check there if you no longer want it to renew.
